Help Older Adults - Commodity Supplemental Food Program

This is a federally funded nutrition program that provides a monthly allotment of 35 pounds of nutritious supplemental food for persons who are over 60 years old, residing in Butler, Warren and Preble Counties and whose income is at or below 130% of the poverty level. We distribute 1,200 boxes each month containing 21 to 25 food items. We need volunteer help to assemble these food boxes. Volunteers should be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 35 pounds. This project’s average recipient is 73 years old and tries to live on $800 a month.
